How does the air compressor fight against the hot summer?

As summer arrives and temperatures and humidity rise, your compressed air system will put more water loads on your air handling equipment. At the highest compressor operating conditions in summer (122 degrees Fahrenheit), the water in the air is 650% warmer than the maximum temperature typically seen in winter (60 degrees Fahrenheit). Therefore, it is imperative to prepare your air compressor for the toughest challenges of the year!

Here are a few quick and easy steps you can take to keep your compressed air system safe for the summer:

1. Timely maintenance

With a clean filter, your vehicle will get better gas mileage, and the same goes for your air compressor; when the air filter is clean, the compressor runs cooler and consumes less energy. Dirty, clogged filters can cause a pressure drop, causing the compressor to run at a higher level to accommodate demand. Filter performance can also be affected by additional moisture, so be sure to follow a regular routine maintenance schedule.

2. Check ventilation

With extra attention to air and oil filters in summer, it's important to check the compressor room and adjust ventilation and airflow as needed. This is also a good opportunity to check for pollen and other air pollutants that are prevalent in spring to ensure ventilation is kept clean before the summer heat hits.

3. Check the drain pipe

Higher humidity in summer can cause more condensation to drain down the drain. Make sure the vents are clear and in working order so they can handle the increased flow. Since condensate can sometimes mix with compressor oil, water should be treated before draining directly to the drain. Check the filter and separator tank of the processing unit to make sure they are still running.

4. Clean the cooler

Imagine dressing in a sweater on a hot summer day -- it affects how you sweat and how your body regulates body temperature. The same goes for your air compressor. A clogged or clogged cooler can cause the air compressor to overheat during the hot summer months, so it must be ensured that the cooler is clean before it gets hot.

5. Adjust the water cooling system

On water-cooled compressors, the temperature of the water entering the system is regulated to compensate for the increase in ambient temperature and ensure it is suitable for summer conditions.

6. Check the air compressor head

Check the main engine head of the air compressor, whether the temperature exceeds the normal value, whether the wear is serious or the lubricating oil needs to be added.

7. Check the operation of the air compressor

Check the operation of the air compressor every 24 hours and record the data. Check whether each data is within the normal range.
