Installation specifications and requirements for air compressors

1. Installation environment layout requirements

 

In order to meet the needs of development, there should be room for expansion in the overall layout of the computer room.

 

The air compressor directly draws air from the atmosphere. In order to reduce the possibility of wear, corrosion, and explosion of the unit, there must be a certain distance between the machine room and the places that emit explosive, corrosive, toxic gases, dust, and other harmful substances. Due to the large heat dissipation capacity of the compressor, especially the high temperature inside the machine in summer, the orientation of the machine room should ensure good ventilation between the machine rooms and minimize sunlight as much as possible.

 

Although the compressor has a box, it is strictly prohibited to rain, so the compressor should not be installed outdoors. The compressor room should be an independent building.

 

The compressor room must be equipped with fixed carbon dioxide fire extinguishing equipment, and its manual switch must be set outside the hazardous area. And it can be reached at any time. Carbon dioxide fire extinguishers or powder fire extinguishers should be placed near the protected target, but outside the hazardous area.

 

 

2. Installation requirements for computer room

 

The ground can be made of smooth cement, and the inner surface of the wall should be painted white. The compressor base should be placed on a concrete ground, and the flatness should not exceed 0.5/1000 (mm). And there are grooves around 200mm away from the unit, so that oil and water can flow away from the grooves when the unit stops for oil change, maintenance, or cleaning the ground. The size of the grooves is determined by the user.

 

The compressor unit should be placed on the ground, ensuring that the bottom of the box fits well with the ground to prevent vibration and increase noise.

 

For users with conditions, sound-absorbing boards can be attached to the walls of the computer room to further reduce noise, but hard surface materials such as ceramic tiles should not be used to decorate the walls.

 

Due to the significant impact of environmental temperature on air-cooled compressors, the ventilation in the machine room should be good and dry. Heat exchange air can be led out of the outdoors through induced draft ducts or equipped with exhaust fans to control the ambient temperature of the compressor within -5 to 40 . The temperature of the computer room needs to be above 0 .

 

There is less dust in the machine room, the air is clean, and there is no harmful gas and corrosive media such as Sulfurous acid. According to the nature of your company's processed products, the air inlet should be equipped with a primary filtration device. The effective area of window circulation should be greater than 3 square meters.

 

  

3. Power supply and peripheral wiring requirements

 

The main power supply of the compressor is AC (380V/50Hz) three-phase, and the freeze-drying machine is AC (220V/50Hz). Please confirm the power supply.

 

The voltage drop should not exceed 5% of the rated voltage, and the voltage difference between each phase should be within 3%.

 

The compressor power supply must be equipped with an isolation switch to prevent short circuit and phase loss operation.

 

Check the secondary circuit fuse and select an appropriate fuse free fuse switch based on the power of the compressor.

 

The compressor can use a set of power system alone to avoid parallel use with other different power consumption systems. Especially when the power of the compressor is large, the overload of the compressor may occur due to excessive voltage drop or three-phase current imbalance, causing the tripping of the protection device.

 

The grounding wire should prevent danger caused by electric leakage and should not be connected to the air delivery pipe or cooling water pipe.

 

 4. Requirements for pipeline installation

 

The air supply port of the unit has a threaded connection, which can be connected to your air supply pipeline. Please refer to the factory manual for installation dimensions.

 

To avoid affecting the operation of the entire station or other units during maintenance, and to reliably prevent compressed air backflow during maintenance, a shut-off valve is installed between the unit and the air storage tank.

 

To avoid affecting gas usage during filter maintenance, backup pipelines should be installed on each filter pipeline,

 

The branch pipeline must be connected from the top of the main pipeline to prevent condensate from flowing down to the compressor unit.

 

The pipeline should be as short and straight as possible, reducing bends and various valves to reduce pressure loss.

 

  

5. Connection and arrangement of air pipelines

 

The main compressed air pipeline is 4 inches long, and the branch pipeline should make use of existing pipelines as much as possible.

 

The pipeline should generally have a slope greater than 2/1000, and the low end should be equipped with a drain valve (plug). The pipeline should have fewer bends and shorter straight valves as much as possible.

 

When underground pipelines pass through the main road surface, the burial depth of the pipe top shall not be less than 0.7m, and the burial depth of the secondary road surface shall not be less than 0.4m

 

The installation position and surface size of pressure and flow instruments should enable operators to clearly see the indicated pressure, and the pressure class scale range should be such that the working pressure is within 1/2 to 2/3 of the dial scale.

 

After the installation of the system, air pressure strength and airtightness tests should be conducted, and water pressure tests should not be conducted. Conduct at a pressure of 1.2 to 1.5 times the same gas, and it is qualified if there is no leakage.

 

  

6. Corrosion prevention of air pipelines

 

After the installation is completed and the pressure test is qualified, the surface should be cleaned of dust, dirt, rust spots, welding slag, etc., and then painted for anti-corrosion treatment. Pipeline painting has the function of anti-corrosion, extending the service life of pipelines, and is also easy to identify and aesthetically pleasing. Generally, one coat of anti rust paint is applied to the surface first, and then the specified mixed paint is applied.

  

 

7. Lightning protection of air pipelines

 

Once the high-voltage electricity induced by lightning is introduced into the workshop pipeline system and gas equipment, it will cause equipment personal safety accidents. So the pipeline should be well grounded before entering the workshop.

 

 

8. Pipeline pressure loss

 

When gas flows inside the pipe, frictional resistance is generated in the straight pipe section; Local resistance is generated at valves, tees, elbows, reducers, etc., resulting in gas pressure loss.

 

Note: The Total pressure drop of the pipeline shall be added with the pressure loss caused by elbows, reducing pipes, tee joints, valves, etc. These values can be found in the relevant manuals

  

 

9. Ventilation of compressor air compression system

 

Regardless of whether the user is using an oil-free machine or an oil injection machine, and whether the user is using an air-cooled compressor or a water-cooled compressor, it is necessary to solve the ventilation problem of the air compressor room. Based on past experience, over 50% of the faults in air compressors are caused by neglect or incorrect understanding of this aspect.

 

During the process of air compression, a large amount of heat is emitted. If this heat cannot be discharged from the air compressor room in a timely manner, it will cause the room temperature to gradually rise, causing the temperature at the suction port of the air compressor to become higher and higher. This vicious cycle will cause an alarm due to high exhaust temperature of the air compressor, and at the same time, the low density of high-temperature air will cause a decrease in gas production.
